ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s energy sector performance has shown marked improvement, contributing to a surge in overall business confidence, according to Gallup’s latest Q2 2025 survey (April–June). The survey highlights that the energy situation is better than in previous years, with noticeably lower load shedding compared to 2023 and 2024.
Business leaders have responded positively to these improvements, with 61% rating current business conditions as “Good” or “Very Good.” The availability of more reliable electricity supply is being cited as a key factor supporting production, reducing operational disruptions, and encouraging future investment.
The improved energy supply has also complemented broader economic gains noted in the survey, including a 46% approval rate for the government’s economic management and a sharp drop in reported bribery cases from 34% last quarter to 15%. With 61% of respondents expecting business to improve in the months ahead, energy stability remains a critical driver of optimism in Pakistan’s economic outlook.
